Public Meeting Open Houses Scheduled for Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail Feasibility Study

TABOR, S.D. – From Tuesday, March 4 through Thursday, March 6, 2025, the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold eight public meeting open houses to share information and garner public input for the Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail Feasibility Study. Informational meetings will be held in Tabor, Tyndall, Avon, Dante, Wagner, Lake Andes, Geddes, and Platte.
Paper surveys and displays will be available at each public meeting open house. All persons interested in this project are welcome to attend. A formal presentation will not be given. SDDOT staff and consultant staff will be available to answer questions and share information about the feasibility study.
Individuals needing assistance, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should contact the SDDOT ADA Coordinator (605-773-3540) two business days prior to the meeting to ensure accommodations are available. All open houses are being held in physically accessible locations.

The public can also visit the feasibility study website (https://dot.sd.gov/tabor-to-platte-rail-to-trail-study) to take an online version of the survey, which will closely match the paper surveys provided at the public meeting open houses. The opportunity to provide written comment will be available at each open house; as well as online through the study website. Written comments will be accepted through Sunday, March 23, 2025.
