SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, access to Shirley Avenue from 41st Street in Sioux Falls will be closed to through traffic to allow crews to install water main pipes. This closure is anticipated to be in effect through the end of day on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Detours will be in place to guide motorists to 34th Street or Louise Avenue to access Shirley Avenue. Access for local businesses will be maintained.

A traffic pattern change is also scheduled on 41st Street between Interstate 29 and Terry Avenue beginning Wednesday, May 3, 2023. One lane of traffic will remain open in both directions, with both east and westbound traffic traveling on the north side of 41st Street. This lane change will allow crews to pave the south side of 41st Street in this area. Motorists should be prepared for delays and use alternate routes during peak travel times through the 41st Street DDI construction project.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling through the area. Traffic control measures will continue to guide motorists around all closures.
