Replace aging surfacing and increase capacity on a busy urban route. The Omaha Street Urban Reconstruction Project is a South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) urban street reconstruction project which includes City of Rapid City utility system upgrades. The project is necessitated by the infrastructure being at the end of its useful life. The pavement on this stretch of road was constructed in 1960, the bridge in 1974. There have been various pavement repair projects completed over the years, but the overall condition is poor.
The project spans 5800' and is being constructed in multiple phases.
Project Timeline:
The anticipated completion date is May 27, 2022.
