SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – On Monday, April 21, 2025, work is scheduled to begin on the Interstate 29 northbound structure over Skunk Creek in Sioux Falls. For this structure work, the northbound on-ramp at 26th Street will be closed as work is completed in the east two lanes of I-29. Traffic on I-29 will be maintained in the west two lanes. Weather dependent, this traffic configuration and northbound on-ramp closure is anticipated to be in place until Friday, June 13, 2025.

Once work is complete, traffic will be switched to the newly constructed east two lanes of I-29 at 26th Street. Work will then begin in the west two lanes at this location.

The prime contractor for this $7.4 million project is General Excavating, LLC of Lincoln, NE. The overall project completion date is August 2025.
