Closure Scheduled for Interstate 90 Rest Area at Chamberlain

On Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, the Chamberlain rest area located on Interstate 90 will be closed for a scheduled project to remodel the facility. This rest area provides service for both I-90 westbound and eastbound traffic. During the rest area closure, access to the Dignity statue will remain open. Truck parking will also be available.

On Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in conjunction with the City of Crooks, the City of Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will hold a public meeting open house to receive public input on the Interchange Modification Study and the Environmental Study for Interstate 29 (exit 86) at Renner/Crooks.
