SDDOT Seeks Public Input on the Tripp County Master Transportation Plan

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in coordination with Tripp County, will hold a public meeting open house on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. to inform residents and business owners about the county’s first master transportation plan.

Temporary Closure Scheduled for S.D. Highway 19 Near Humboldt Exit

(UPDATE: Due to forecasted rains, this temporary closure is rescheduled to Thursday, April 18, 2024.) On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, bridge work is scheduled to begin on Interstate 90 near Humboldt, exit 379. This bridge work will result in a temporary closure of S.D. Highway 19 underneath I-90 as contractors remove the existing structure. The Highway 19 closure is scheduled for 8 a.m.

National Work Zone Awareness Week - April 15-19, 2024

National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is an annual awareness campaign held at the start of construction season to remind drivers to be attentive through work zones during the busy summer travel months. The official theme for NWZAW 2024, is “Work zones are temporary. Actions behind the wheel can last forever.”

Signals at Crazy Horse Memorial and Oreville Junction Scheduled to Be Activated

Beginning Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the traffic signals at both Crazy Horse Memorial and U.S. Highway 16/S.D. Highway 244 at Oreville Junction will once again be activated.

Intersection Improvement Project Scheduled to Resume at Blunt Junction

During the week of April 15, 2024, work will resume on the reconstruction project at the Blunt Junction (intersection of U.S. Highways 14 and 83) located four miles west of the town of Blunt.
